Softball Recap: Saxony Lutheran Wins Going Away Against Central

While Saxony Lutheran put up some runs on Wednesday, the same can't be said for Central. The Crusaders blew past the Tigers 10-0. The result was nothing new for the Crusaders, who have now won eight contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Saxony Lutheran let Kinley Faulkenberry and Mabrie Barke run wild. Faulkenberry went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Barke went 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That RBI marked the first that Faulkenberry has brought in this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ansley Palisch, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Saxony Lutheran has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Central, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.

Looking ahead, Saxony Lutheran is taking a road trip to square off against DeSoto at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Central, they will be playing at home against Naylor at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.2 runs per game on average), something the Tigers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
