Basketball Game Preview: Liberty Ranch Hawks vs. Escalon Cougars

Two dominant guards in Haley Smith and Arianna Velasco are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Liberty Ranch Hawks and the Escalon Cougars will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Liberty Ranch will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Liberty Ranch picked up another tournament win on Saturday. They came out on top against West Campus by a score of 47-36.

Meanwhile, Escalon got the win against Beyer on Saturday by a conclusive 62-42. The Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 20 points or more this season.

Liberty Ranch's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-2. As for Escalon, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

Liberty Ranch came up short against Escalon in their previous matchup back in December of 2015, falling 48-36. Can Liberty Ranch avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
