Baseball Preview: Lee County Trojans vs. Mundy's Mill Tigers

The Lee County Trojans will head out on the road to square off against the Mundy's Mill Tigers at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Lee County's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so Mundy's Mill's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Lee County was handed a eight-point loss in their previous outing, but they didn't let that bad energy affect their game against Schley County on Wednesday. Lee County sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 victory over Schley County. The win was just what Lee County needed coming off of a 10-2 defeat in their prior match.

Gaven Smith spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't pitched less than five innings in five consecutive pitching appearances.

Meanwhile, Mundy's Mill made easy work of Jonesboro on Friday and carried off a 14-4 victory.

Mundy's Mill got a great performance from Jaysen Tyler as he tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits.

At the plate, Kenneth West was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 3-for-3. Christopher Hill was another key contributor, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 1-for-3.

Lee County's record is now 13-9. As for Mundy's Mill, the win got them back to even at 9-9.
