Baseball Recap: Naperville North Gets the Win

While Naperville North's win against Waubonsie Valley wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Huskies had just enough and edged out the Warriors 3-1. The Huskies haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Naperville North got a great performance from Cohen Jeppsen as he struck out seven batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Those seven strikeouts gave Jeppsen a new career-high.

At the plate, Lawton Close was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Sam Steele, who went 2-for-3 with two runs.

Naperville North's record is now 13-11. As for Waubonsie Valley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 16-11.

Looking ahead, Naperville North will welcome Glenbard East at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Huskies' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rams have averaged an impressive 8.8 runs per game this season. As for Waubonsie Valley, they are taking a road trip to take on Yorkville at 10:00 a.m. on the 16th.
