Basketball Recap: Hoover Has No Trouble Against Edison

Hoover won the last time they faced Edison and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Hoover Patriots put the hurt on the Edison Tigers with a sharp 63-43 win. Given the Patriots' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 325th, while the Tigers are ranked 786th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

When it comes to explaining why Edison lost, don't look at Angelique Montez. Despite the final result, she posted 12 points and three steals. What's more, Montez also racked up four boards, the most she's had since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Masiyah Morgan, who earned four points.

Hoover is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 13-12 record this season. As for Edison, their defeat was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-18.

Hoover has already played their next contest (against Sanger), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Edison has also has no score uploaded for their next game, this one against Torres.
