Basketball Game Preview: Avenal Buccaneers vs. Firebaugh Eagles + Official Tickets

Avenal hasn't had much luck against Firebaugh recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Buccaneers will face off against the Eagles at 6:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Friday, Avenal had to suffer through a 69-29 loss at the hands of Coalinga. While losing is never fun, the Buccaneers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 817th, while the Horned Toads are ranked 348th).

Meanwhile, Firebaugh was just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 31-30 to Tranquillity.

Firebaugh's loss dropped their record down to 5-19. As for Avenal, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-7.

Avenal beat Firebaugh 32-22 in their previous meeting last Thursday. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was the Eagles' Emma Serna, who almost dropped a double-double with ten rebounds and nine steals.
