Softball Recap: Stratford Academy's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Saturday

After a string of four wins, Stratford Academy's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell just short of the George Walton Academy Bulldogs by a score of 8-7. The Eagles were not able to make up for their defeat to the Bulldogs from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

Reagan Ray was huge no matter where she played even without the win. On the mound, she pitched four innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

In other batting news, Cordtney Galoia was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Hayden Craddock, who went 2-for-3 with two runs.

Stratford Academy now has a losing record of 5-6. As for George Walton Academy, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-3.

Coincidentally, Stratford Academy and George Walton Academy will both be playing Southwest Georgia Academy the next time they take the field. The Bulldogs will head out to face the Warriors at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Eagles will play them later in the day, at 2:00 p.m.
