            Softball Recap: Horizon Hawks vs. Arvada West Wildcats        
        
		
        
        
            Horizon lost to Arvada West  on Friday, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Hawks had just enough and edged out the Wildcats  7-6. That's two games straight that the Hawks have won by  just one  run.
 Kaiya Barela spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned  (and two unearned) runs on ten hits.

 At the plate,  the team  relied heavily on  Larrissa Arvizo, who  got on base  in all four of her plate appearances with three  stolen bases, two  RBI,  and one  run. Those  three  stolen bases gave  her a new career-high.
Horizon has  been performing  well recently as they've  won 15 of their last 19 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record  this season. Those  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Arvada West,  this is the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 15-10.
