Football Recap: Onaga Comes Up Short

Onaga fell victim to Jackson Heights and their airtight defense on Friday. They were beaten by the Cobras 55-0. The game marked the first time this season in which the Buffaloes were not able to get on the board.

Drake Mellies continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Jackson Heights, rushing for 334 yards and five scores on only 11 carries, while also throwing for 164 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only nine passes. Thanks to that big game, Mellies is now up to 13 rushing touchdowns on the season.

This is the second loss in a row for Onaga and nudges their season record down to 2-4. As for Jackson Heights, they pushed their record up to 6-0 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Looking ahead, Onaga will face off against Pleasant Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Jackson Heights, they will square off against Valley Falls at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
