Basketball Game Preview: Shalom Christian Academy Flames vs. Allegany Campers

The Shalom Christian Academy Flames will venture away from home to square off against the Allegany Campers at 3:45 p.m. on Monday.

Shalom Christian Academy is headed into the match having just suffered their biggest loss since February 13, 2024 on Saturday. They took a blow against Chambersburg, falling 60-26. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Flames came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 80th, while the Trojans are ranked 440th).

Despite the defeat, Shalom Christian Academy had strong showings from Sydney Moore, who posted seven points and six rebounds, and Emily Rebok, who put up nine points and five boards. The dominant performance also gave Moore a new career-high in three-point shooting accuracy (33%).

Meanwhile, Allegany won against Northern Garrett on Monday with 60 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Saturday. Allegany blew past Jefferson 60-30. The Campers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 20 points or more this season.

Allegany's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-3. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 24.0 points over those games. As for Shalom Christian Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 16-4.

Shalom Christian Academy was taken down by Allegany 63-28 when the teams last played back in February of 2024. That match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Shalom Christian Academy was down 33-13.
