Football Recap: Coffee County Central Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Coffee County Central came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They were dealt a 35-6 loss at the hands of the Independence Eagles. The match marked the Red Raiders' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Kaysen Lowery threw for 131 yards on 17 of 28 attempts. Kane Dixon was his top target, picking up 46 receiving yards. On the ground, Corontez Garrett rushed for 46 yards.

Independence's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Eli Garlington, who rushed for 99 yards and two TDs on only eight carries. Those 99 rushing yards gave Garlington a new career-high. Hendrix Harvey also helped out with an impressive 92 receiving yards.

Coffee County Central now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Independence, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Coming up, Coffee County Central will venture away from home to challenge Smyrna at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Independence, they will welcome Franklin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles are facing the Admirals at the right time seeing as the Admirals are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
