Basketball Game Preview: Corona del Mar Sea Kings vs. Shadow Hills Knights

The Corona del Mar Sea Kings just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Shadow Hills Knights at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Corona del Mar picked up another tournament win on Friday. They came out on top against Escondido Charter by a score of 57-48.

Meanwhile, Shadow Hills entered their tilt with Mount Si on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 49-46 win over the Wildcats. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Knights have posted since November 23rd.

Shadow Hills has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.6 points per game. As for Corona del Mar, their win bumped their record up to 8-6.

Corona del Mar was dealt a bruising 58-22 defeat at the hands of Shadow Hills in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Thankfully for Corona del Mar, Victoria Hyatt (who went 11 for 17 on her way to 26 points in addition to six rebounds and five blocks) won't be suiting up this time.
