Recap: High Tech NC Raptor vs. Mountain Empire Redhawks
The High Tech NC Raptor had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 46-14 victory over Mountain Empire. That 32 points margin sets a new team best for High Tech NC this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead High Tech NC to victory, but perhaps none more so than Analia Barraza, who scored 12 points along with nine rebounds and seven assists. Barraza is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Riley Hernandez, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and five blocks.
High Tech NC pushed their record up to 6-1 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Mountain Empire, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. High Tech NC will challenge Gompers Prep Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Mountain Empire won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against High Tech SD at 6:30 p.m. on January 10th. High Tech SD presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Mountain Empire in California (High Tech SD is ranked 530th, while Mountain Empire is ranked 1279th).
