Avenal has gone 8-2 against Tranquillity recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Avenal Buccaneers will welcome the Tranquillity Tigers at 5:00 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Avenal and 12 for Tranquillity.

Avenal is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Mendota on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Avenal took a blow against Mendota, falling 52-24. While losing is never fun, the Buccaneers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1165th, while the Aztecs are ranked 340th).

Meanwhile, Tranquillity had to suffer through a 80-17 loss at the hands of Coalinga.

Tranquillity's defeat dropped their record down to 4-22. As for Avenal, their loss dropped their record down to 8-14.

Avenal didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Tranquillity when the teams last played back in January, but they still walked away with a 22-17 win. Does Avenal have another victory up their sleeve, or will Tranquillity turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
