Baseball Game Preview: Northview Titans vs. Alpharetta Raiders

The Northview Titans will head out on the road to face off against the Alpharetta Raiders at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Northview will be strutting in after a victory while Alpharetta will be coming in after a loss.

Northview made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Duluth, but still couldn't quite topple them. Northview's pitcher stepped up to hand Duluth a 12-0 shutout on Friday. The Titans' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

The result came thanks to Ryan DiSano's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up seven Ks. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts.

At the plate, Northview let Graham Forney and Evan Bates run wild. Forney got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run and two RBI, while Bates scored two runs while going 3-for-4. That's the most runs Bates has posted since back in February of 2024. Jack Pierson also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Northview was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Alpharetta was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 5-2 to Riverwood.

Northview's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Alpharetta, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 1-4.

Northview suffered a grim 11-0 defeat to Alpharetta when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Can Northview avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
