Softball Recap: Kiefer Now 10-1 over Last 11 Games

Tahlequah typically has all the answers at home, but on Monday Kiefer proved too difficult a challenge. They never let the Tigers get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. Considering the Trojans have won 16 contests by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Caley Smith looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 15 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Kiefer got a massive performance out of Addison Dossett, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Those three runs gave Dossett a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Rhyan Counts, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI.

Kiefer is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 30-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Tahlequah, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 27-6-1.

Kiefer does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Tahlequah, they are taking a road trip to square off against Owasso at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
