Basketball Recap: Millennium Find Success

If Turlock Christian wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Millennium, they should've done a better job of containing Gianna Negrete. The Millennium Falcons secured a 36-32 W over the Turlock Christian Eagles on Friday thanks in part to Negrete, who posted 20 points along with seven steals and six boards. Those seven steals gave her a new career-high.

Another player making a difference was Sarah Digiallonardo, who earned seven points and 13 rebounds. She is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down ten or more in each of the last 17 games she's played.

Turlock Christian's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Christiana Eivaz, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds, and Faith Hayes, who had eight points and 14 boards. Claire Betts was another key player, putting up six points.

Millennium's win bumped their record up to 13-9. As for Turlock Christian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 10-15 record this season.

Millennium wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 51-49 loss against Fortune Early College on the 18th. As for Turlock Christian, they have also already played their next contest, a 34-28 defeat against Foresthill on the 18th.
