Perham came tearing into Saturday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.2 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Aitkin Gobblers as they made off with a 13-1 win. Considering the Yellowjackets have won 14 games by more than eight runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Micah Lung tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits.

On the hitting side, Gavin Griffin was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with four runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lyam Schumacher, who went 2-for-3 with three runs and one double.

Perham's victory bumped their record up to 16-2. As for Aitkin, they moved to 16-2 with that defeat, which also ended their ten-game winning streak.

Perham and Aitkin should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Minnesota Rankings. The Yellowjackets will face off against Fergus Falls at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (46 vs. 134). Meanwhile, Aitkin (ranked 32nd) will meet Mesabi East (ranked 296th) at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
