Recap: Firebaugh Eagles vs. Coalinga Horned Toads
The Firebaugh Eagles lost against the Coalinga Horned Toads back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Firebaugh received a tough blow as they fell 53-35 to Coalinga. While losing is never fun, Firebaugh can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 905th, while Coalinga is ranked 401st).
Coalinga can attribute much of their success to Jozlynn Marshall, who scored 14 points along with nine rebounds. Those 14 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Jaelyn Bourdeau, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds.
Firebaugh now has a losing record at 9-10. As for Coalinga, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Firebaugh will take on Tranquillity at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Tranquillity is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Coalinga, they will be playing at home against Dos Palos at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
