Basketball Game Preview: Shady Side Academy Bulldogs vs. East Allegheny Wild Cats

The Shady Side Academy Bulldogs will head out to challenge the East Allegheny Wild Cats at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Shady Side Academy has 13 straight victories, East Allegheny has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Shady Side Academy will bounce into Monday's game after beating Greensburg Central Catholic, who they had gone 0-3 against in their three prior meetings. Shady Side Academy blew past Greensburg Central Catholic, posting a 62-33 win. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, East Allegheny was beaten by Ligonier Valley 51-17 on Thursday.

Shady Side Academy pushed their record up to 13-0 with the victory, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.5 points per game. As for East Allegheny, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.

Shady Side Academy came up short against East Allegheny in their previous meeting back in February of 2021, falling 37-30. Can Shady Side Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
