Baseball Recap: Zakeion Porter and Ivon Lopez Secure Win for Warner Robins

After low-scoring totals in their previous three game, Warner Robins brought some dynamite into their most recent matchup. They never let the New Hampstead Phoenix get on the board and left with a 10-0 win on Tuesday. The Demons haven't had any issues with the Phoenix recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Ivon Lopez and Zakeion Porter did most of the damage at the plate: Lopez went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Porter went 1-for-4 with four stolen bases and three runs. Those two hits gave Lopez a new career-high. Justyn Hunter was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Warner Robins kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Warner Robins' win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 7-7. As for New Hampstead, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-8.

Coming up, New Hampstead will challenge Windsor Forest at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Warner Robins will be paying especially close attention to the Phoenix's contest: after the Phoenix face off against the Knights, they'll take on Warner Robins again at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
