Baseball Recap: Central Fellowship Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Central Fellowship Christian Academy had lost three straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 1-16 to make it four. They lost 13-7 to the Rock Springs Christian Academy Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-0 back in March.

Barron Hamilton was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one run. Another player making a difference was Evan Fries, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs.

As for Rock Springs Christian Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games.

On Rock Springs Christian Academy's side, Brandt Washington made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. Washington has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in nine consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Adam McGinnis was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and three runs. Rock Springs Christian Academy is 10-1 when McGinnis posts two or more runs, but 5-6 otherwise. Allen McCook was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

Central Fellowship Christian Academy didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 14-4 loss against Brentwood on the 18th. As for Rock Springs Christian Academy, they have also already played their next game, an 18-6 victory against Windsor Academy on the 24th.
