Mission and Nixon are an even 3-3 against one another since August of 2022, but not for long. The Eagles will square off against the Mustangs at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

While Mission's win against Cigarroa wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Eagles skirted past the Toros 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Eagles have posted since August 19th.

Meanwhile, Nixon came tearing into Tuesday's match with three straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Huskies as they made off with a 3-0 win. The Mustangs not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since August 26th (when they won 3-0).

While Nixon won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-23, 25-10.

Nixon's win came from a few key players Mission will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Dalid Najera, who had 14 digs and two aces. She has been hot, having posted 13 or more digs the last six times she's played. Alayna Martinez was another key player, getting 18 assists and six digs.

Mission's victory bumped their record up to 7-9. As for Nixon, they now have a winning record of 15-14.

Mission came out on top in a nail-biter against Nixon in their previous matchup back in August, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
