Basketball Recap: Cordova Takes a Loss

Cordova was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 75-8 loss at the hands of the Grant Pacers. The game marked the Lancers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Grant found their leader in sophomore Asia Washington, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 12 rebounds. Washington has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more boards the last 15 times she's played. Oranell Latham was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds.

Cordova's loss dropped their record down to 4-18. As for Grant, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-7.

Cordova is taking a road trip to square off against West Park at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Cordova is facing West Park at the right time seeing as West Park is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Grant, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Kennedy at 7:00 p.m. on January 31st.
