Softball Recap: Arvada West Wins Going Away Against Bear Creek

After only two runs in their last matchup, Arvada West made sure to put some runs up on the board against Bear Creek on Wednesday. The Wildcats blew past the Bears 10-0. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by six runs or more this season.

Morgan Farr was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over 5.1 innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

In other batting news, Addison Fousel and Makinzi Gallegos did most of the damage at the plate: Fousel went 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI, while Gallegos went 2-for-3 with two runs and one triple. That's the most hits Fousel has posted since back in August. Lena Guyer was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

Arvada West always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .531. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bear Creek only posted an OBP of .130.

Arvada West's record is now 14-7. As for Bear Creek, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 14 of their last 15 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-17 record this season.

Arvada West wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, an 11-0 defeat against Valor Christian on the 10th. As for Bear Creek, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 14-1 loss against Columbine on the 9th.
