Basketball Recap: North Tahoe Lakers vs. West Wendover Wolverines
North Tahoe won the last time they faced West Wendover and things went their way on Saturday too. The North Tahoe Lakers walked away with a 45-33 victory over the West Wendover Wolverines.

North Tahoe had a senior duo take command as Laura Couwenhoven posted eight points along with eight rebounds and five blocks and Makenna Alter went 5 of 9 on her way to 13 points and six steals. The dominant performance also gave Couwenhoven a new career-high in assists (three). Anna Hawley was another key player, going 5 for 8 to rack up 10 points.
Despite the loss, West Wendover still got an impressive performance from Shay Neaman, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten boards. Neaman is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Savannah Jimenez, who earned ten points.
North Tahoe's win bumped their record up to 14-9. As for West Wendover, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-11.
Looking ahead, North Tahoe will be playing in front of their home fans against Silver Stage at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for West Wendover, they will take on Pershing County at 6:20 p.m. on Thursday. Pershing County will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something West Wendover surely won't give up without a fight.
