Basketball Game Preview: Tulare Western Mustangs vs. Hoover Patriots

Tulare Western is a perfect 3-0 against Hoover since December of 2014 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Tulare Western Mustangs will challenge the Hoover Patriots at 6:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Tulare Western sitting on three straight wins and Hoover on four.

Last Tuesday, Tulare Western was able to grind out a solid victory over Tulare Union, taking the game 43-33.

Among those leading the charge was Regina Toscano, who almost dropped a double-double with 17 points and nine rebounds. That's the most points she has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Annette Lopez, who earned eight points and three steals.

Meanwhile, Hoover beat Torres 50-41 on Tuesday.

Hoover pushed their record up to 16-12 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Tulare Western, their victory bumped their record up to 18-9.

Tulare Western was able to grind out a solid win over Hoover in their previous matchup back in December of 2016, winning 46-36. Will Tulare Western repeat their success, or does Hoover have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
