Basketball Recap: Glenn Takes a Loss

Glenn was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 98-4 defeat at the hands of the Pioneer Titans. The match marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Alissa Belen was her usual excellent self, going 10 for 17 from beyond the arc on her way to 36 points and three steals for Pioneer. The game was Belen's seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aryanna Reyes, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten assists.

Glenn's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 3-9. As for Pioneer, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-7.

Glenn and Pioneer could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. Glenn (ranked 1189th) will meet Whitney (ranked 296th) at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Similarly, Pioneer (ranked 266th) will meet Fairmont Prep (ranked 19th) at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
