Softball Recap: El Reno Snaps 11-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

El Reno won the last time they faced Guymon and things went their way on Monday too. The Indians blew past the Tigers 11-4.

Izzy Birdsong was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyla Killingsworth, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

El Reno was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .382. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

El Reno's win ended an 11-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-6. As for Guymon, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-9 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. El Reno will square off against rival Midwest City at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Guymon is set to challenge their familiar foe Guthrie at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
