Baseball Recap: Harrison Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Harrison challenged Springboro on Tuesday. The Wildcats fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 4-3. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Harrison got a good showing from Preston Flick, who pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Flick has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Harrison saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cam Enneking, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Derek Stigler also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Harrison's defeat dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Springboro, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That lines up perfectly with their 18-6 record this season.

Harrison will face off against Anderson at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Wildcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Raptors have averaged an impressive 8 runs per game this season. As for Springboro, they will square off against Centerville at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Elks' pitching crew has only allowed 2.4 runs per game this season, so the Panthers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
