Baseball Game Preview: Eleva-Strum Cardinals vs. Regis Ramblers

The Eleva-Strum Cardinals will face off against the Regis Ramblers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in Eleva-Strum's favor as the squad sits on four straight wins at home while Regis has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.

Eleva-Strum's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Whitehall as they made off with an 8-0 win. The Cardinals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by eight runs or more this season.

Calvin Barneson was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. He is becoming a predictor of Eleva-Strum's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 5-6 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, Noah Martinson and Alex King did most of the damage at the plate: Martinson went 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs, while King went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs.
