Baseball Recap: Tanner Gay's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Augusta Prep Day over Georgia Christian

Augusta Prep Day extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 11-12 in the process. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 7-0 to the Georgia Christian Generals, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Generals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-0 on Thursday.

Augusta Prep Day saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tanner Gay, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

As for Georgia Christian, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 18-5. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 15 matchups by seven runs or more this season.

On Georgia Christian's side, not much got past Jett Guilliams, who gave up just two hits and racked up six Ks to keep Augusta Prep Day off the board.

At the plate, Carson Hanks was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Bo Miller, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Georgia Christian beat Augusta Prep Day by a score of 12-2 later that day.
