Soccer Recap: Monte Vista Takes a Loss

Monte Vista and Escondido Charter squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Monte Vista had to settle for second. They lost 4-0 to the Escondido Charter Tigers. The contest was a close 1-0 at the break, but unfortunately for the Monarchs it sure didn't stay that way.

Monte Vista was without their leading scorer, Marely Velazquez, in Wednesday's match. With Velazquez sitting this one out, Valeria Cardona got some extra time on the pitch (80 vs. her season average of 60).

Monte Vista now has a losing record of 7-8. As for Escondido Charter, the win was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-5.

Monte Vista does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Escondido Charter, they have already played their next game, a 2-1 victory against University City on the 21st.
