Basketball Game Preview: University Pathways Medical Magnet vs. San Pedro Pirates

University Pathways Medical Magnet will head out to face off against the San Pedro Pirates at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

With University Pathways Medical Magnet's effective field goal percentage at 67% and Animo Watts' at 31% on Wednesday, the final result was to be expected on Wednesday. University Pathways Medical Magnet fell 68-58 to Animo Watts. One positive for University Pathways Medical Magnet, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Camila Alcaraz, who posted 23 points and five steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Mia Munguia was another key player, going 6 for 8 on her way to 13 points.

Meanwhile, San Pedro played a tough match on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 76-18 defeat at the hands of West. The Pirates were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-10.

Like University Pathways Medical Magnet, San Pedro lost despite seeing results from several players. Madison Adrid led the charge by putting up five points.

This is the second loss in a row for San Pedro and nudges their season record down to 1-5. As for University Pathways Medical Magnet, they now have a losing record at 2-3.

University Pathways Medical Magnet was taken down by San Pedro 69-18 in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. Thankfully for University Pathways Medical Magnet, Noelani Raigans (who had 21 points) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
