King/Drew posted their closest victory since November 22, 2023 on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the George Washington Prep Generals 46-43. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 60-52 back in January.

Several Generals players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jay'La Ray, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and ten rebounds. Ray has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 21 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Jaleyah Lucien, who almost dropped a double-double with ten points and nine boards.

King/Drew is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 12-12 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.2 points over those games. As for George Washington Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-5.
