Football Recap: McCool Junction Triumphs

McCool Junction had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They had just enough and edged out the Arcadia/Loup City Rebels 44-42. The high-scoring effort was just what the Mustangs needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

Carson McDonald produced another solid effort rushing for 138 yards and three scores, while also throwing for 105 yards and a pair of TDs. McCool Junction is undefeated when McDonald posts two or more rushing touchdowns, but 1-2 otherwise. Colby Yates was in the mix as well, providing the Mustangs with two touchdowns.

McCool Junction's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Arcadia/Loup City, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 7-2.

McCool Junction has already played their next contest, a 52-8 defeat against Dundy County-Stratton on the 31st. Arcadia/Loup City does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
