Softball Recap: Bennett Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

There's no place like home for Bennett, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Holyoke Dragons with a sharp 15-1 win on Tuesday. This was payback for the Tigers, who suffered a 20-3 loss the last time these two teams met.

Colby Robichaud was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in August of 2024. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Jagoda Gutowska was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Macy Meyer was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.

Bennett lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

With the victory, Bennett broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-7. As for Holyoke, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-15.

Bennett will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Dragons: the pair will be back at it again later today.
