Basketball Recap: Prospect Falls to Santa Cruz in First Game of Season + How To Watch

Prospect had to start their season on the road on Saturday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They lost 48-28 to the Santa Cruz Cardinals. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cardinals apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Prospect lost, don't look at Cali Wallace. Despite the final result, she posted 13 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals. Akeisha McDaid was another key player, putting up five points along with eight boards and three blocks.

Prospect has already played their next matchup, a 61-34 loss against Hillsdale on the 2nd. As for Santa Cruz, they will square off against Burlingame at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
