Basketball Recap: Elk Grove Takes a Loss

Elk Grove played a tough match on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 59-21 loss at the hands of the Monterey Trail Mustangs. The Thundering Herd were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-12.

This is the second loss in a row for Elk Grove and nudges their season record down to 5-8. As for Monterey Trail, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.

Elk Grove will host Cosumnes Oaks at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Monterey Trail, they will head out on the road to take on Laguna Creek at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Laguna Creek sitting on four straight wins and Monterey Trail on three.
