Baseball Game Preview: Waverly Wolverines vs. Chenango Valley Warriors

For the second straight game, Waverly will face off against Chenango Valley. The Wolverines will welcome the Warriors at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Waverly's pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so Chenango Valley's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Waverly fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Chenango Valley on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 4-3. The Wolverines' defeat signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

For Chenango Valley's part, they saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Johnny Fitzgerald, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI. That's the most hits Fitzgerald has posted since back in April.

Chenango Valley's victory bumped their record up to 10-13. As for Waverly, their loss dropped their record down to 17-2.
