Basketball Game Preview: King City Mustangs vs. Greenfield Bruins

The King City Mustangs will take on the Greenfield Bruins at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in King City's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Greenfield has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.

On Tuesday, King City blew past Pajaro Valley, posting a 56-23 win.

Meanwhile, Greenfield scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They fell 53-44 to St. Francis. While losing is never fun, the Bruins can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1086th, while the Sharks are ranked 371st).

King City is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-13 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 22.2 points over those games. As for Greenfield, their loss dropped their record down to 2-12.

King City strolled past Greenfield in their previous meeting back in January by a score of 59-43. Will King City repeat their success, or does Greenfield have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
