Soccer Game Preview: Sumter County vs. Carver

A feisty cat fight will be fought as Sumter County face off against Carver at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Sumter County will be strutting in after a victory while Carver will be coming in after a defeat.

Sumter County took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They walked away with a 4-2 win over Spencer. The score was all tied up 1-1 at the break, but the Panthers were the better team in the second half.

Meanwhile, Carver lost 11-2 to Columbus on Monday. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Blue Devils recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

Sumter County's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Carver, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Sumter County took their win against Carver in their previous meeting back in April of 2019 by a conclusive 5-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Sumter County since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
