Basketball Recap: St. Joseph Notre Dame Takes a Loss

If St. Joseph Notre Dame was feeling good fresh off their 83-35 takedown of Athenian last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The St. Joseph Notre Dame Pilots had to suffer through a 71-33 loss at the hands of the Cornerstone Christian Cougars. While losing is never fun, the Pilots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 858th, while the Cougars are ranked 383rd).

St. Joseph Notre Dame's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-13. The slump could be explained by some tough opposition over that stretch, namely Cornerstone Christian, they, and Head-Royce. As for Cornerstone Christian, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season.

St. Joseph Notre Dame does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cornerstone Christian, they will take on Head-Royce at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Head-Royce comes in on four and Cornerstone Christian on seven.
