Baseball Recap: Pepperell Has No Trouble Against Temple

Pepperell won the last time they faced Temple and things went their way on Friday too. The Dragons were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Tigers. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Dragons.

Luke Alford made a big impact no matter where he played. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases and two runs. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Pepperell let Chance Hopper and Tucker Glenn run wild. Hopper went 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI, while Glenn went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Pepperell is undefeated when Glenn posts two or more runs, but 10-12 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Ross, who earned three RBI, one run, and one stolen base.

Pepperell's record now sits at 17-12. As for Temple, they are on a 22-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-24.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Pepperell beat the Tigers by a score of 8-2 later that day.
