Basketball Recap: Penn Cambria Find Success

Penn Cambria won the last time they faced Richland, and MaKenna McCoy did her part to make sure it happened again. The Penn Cambria Panthers blew past the Richland Rams 52-30 on Monday thanks in part to McCoy, who went 6 of 9 en route to 16 points along with six boards and five steals. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in blocks (two).

Despite the defeat, Richland saw an underclassman step up: freshman Kiya Wise posted ten points and six rebounds. Wise is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Rebecca Fetchko was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Penn Cambria now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Richland, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-5.

Penn Cambria will face off against Bishop Guilfoyle at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Bishop Guilfoyle will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Penn Cambria surely won't give up without a fight. As for Richland, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 56-16 victory against Bald Eagle Area on the 14th.
