Volleyball Recap: Atkins Takes a Loss

After flying high against North Forsyth last Wednesday, Atkins came back down to earth. The Camels lost 3-0 to the Glenn Bobcats on Monday. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Bobcats this season, with their most recent loss being a 3-0 defeat back in September.

While Atkins was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Glenn's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-17, 25-18.

Among those leading the charge was Kelly Chau, who had ten digs. That's the most digs she has posted over her last seven matchups.

Atkins dropped their record down to 4-17 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Glenn, their victory bumped their record up to 7-16.

Coming up, Atkins will take on Smoky Mountain at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Glenn, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Oak Grove on the 14th.
