Softball Recap: Valwood Takes a Loss

Valwood came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 12-2 to the Terrell Academy Eagles. The Valiants have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Valwood saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Karstyn Hamby, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.

Valwood's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 7-6. As for Terrell Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.

Valwood has already played their next contest, a 4-0 loss against Crisp Academy on the 23rd. As for Terrell Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 14-2 victory against Westwood on the 20th.
