Baseball Recap: St. Raphael Academy Saints vs. North Providence Cougars

St. Raphael Academy had lost four straight on the road, but on Sunday they dropped down to 7-12 to make it five. They came up short against the North Providence Cougars, falling 10-0. The Saints were not able to make up for their loss to the Cougars from their previous meeting back in May of 2025.

As for North Providence, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 13-5-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.4 runs over those games.

For North Providence's part, not much got past Kris Pacific, who gave up just four hits and racked up six Ks to keep St. Raphael Academy off the board.

At the plate, Anthony Roman and Jayden Allard did most of the damage at the plate: Roman went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI, while Allard got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two doubles gave Roman a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabe Ramirez, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Raphael Academy will host Narragansett at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for North Providence, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Smithfield at 4:00 p.m.
