Soccer Game Preview: Leigh vs. Gilroy

The Leigh Longhorns will take on the Gilroy Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Leigh is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

Leigh's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed back in December of 2024. They put the hurt on Presentation with a sharp 3-0 win. Considering the Longhorns have won four contests by more than two goals this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

They hit Presentation with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Maggie Currie, Shani Outlaw, and Ananya Dhanish.

Meanwhile, Gilroy was able to grind out a solid victory over Live Oak on Thursday, taking the game 2-0. Aliyah Garcia had to tread lightly for part of the match after she was hit with a yellow card, but that was the only trouble the Mustangs got from the refs.

Leigh pushed their record up to 6-0-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those three matches. As for Gilroy, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.
