Basketball Recap: Sarah Digiallonardo's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Millennium over Denair

Millennium was the 53-48 winner over Denair when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Millennium Falcons fell to the Denair Coyotes 41-35.

Millennium's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sarah Digiallonardo, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 14 boards. Digiallonardo has been hot, having posted ten or more boards the last six times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Gianna Negrete, who posted 13 points along with six steals and three blocks.

Even though they lost, Millennium smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in four consecutive matchups.

Millennium's loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Denair, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-6.

Millennium won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Venture Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Denair, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Stone Ridge Christian at 6:00 p.m.
